I miss the world world we used to live in when kindness and civility were the norm. Be honest don’t you miss it too?
Cruelty is barbaric and belongs with the cave man in the stone age.
I'm on the road right now doing comedy shows with a beautiful cross section of people in the audience. Everybody is laughing at the same punchlines and clapping at the same jokes- regardless of politics.
I haven't talked to anyone regardless of age, race , religion, or politics who doesn’t long for a kinder world. Neighbors helping neighbors, smiling at strangers, saying good morning as you walk your dog.
It's easy to blame social media for our culture of cruelty, but PEOPLE ARE TO BLAME. Machines aren’t making the posts and insulting others in a public forum -people are. It's easy to insult people and hide. So instead of thinking about a clever jab lets try INSPIRE one another rather than insult.
I’m NOT suggesting that we remain silent. WE MUST SPEAK UP during these dark and dangerous times. But speaking up doesn’t mean we have to yell at others and insult those with differing point of views. Besides everyone knows as soon as we start yelling NO ONE is listening. We can't create change in the world without conversation.
Remember what your grandma used to say "You get mores bees with honey than with vinegar"
Today's challenge- SMILE AND BE KIND TO EVERYONE YOU MEET....and then do it again tomorrow.
KINDNESS THAT IS WHAT MAKES US GREAT.
Keep laughing with love,
Jennifer Rawlings
